Intro
Jump start (Questioning technique)
What do you do during Songkran
Festival?
Well, many of you may enjoy
splashing water to one another. Some may go to the temple to make merits. What
about pouring
water to the elders? (Have you ever done this before?)
Why
Well, because it is a very good
tradition, I would like to walk you through the benefits of pouring water to the elders.
Topic
And that is my topic today.
My name is XXXX.
What: Preview
Today I am going to divide my talk
into 2 main parts. I will
start with the benefits
for ourselves. And then I will move on to the benefits for others.
How
My talk will last about 2 minutes.
Signal
So, let’s get started.
Body
1. The first point that I will cover
is the benefits for
ourselves. When we pour the water
to the elders, we show our respect. In return, we will feel calm and blessed
inside our heart and soul. For example, when you get up in the morning, you
take the jasmine water and the garland to your parents. After that, you will
feel happy all day long. Or even all year long.
2. Now, let’s move to the second point
which is about the benefits
to others. When the parents receive the jasmine water and flowers from
their children, they will feel blessed, impressed, and loved. This also leads
to a close relationship in the family.
Conclusion
Signal
Well, these are the two benefits
that I want to bring up.
Summary: Review
The first one was the benefits for ourselves,
and the second one was the benefits
to others such as your family.
Finish
with a bang
Before I will end my talk, I would
like to leave you with a Thai proverb that “Parents are the monks in your own
home.” And therefore you should show them great respect.
